KidSport is a national children's charitable program that helps kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. Adopted by Sport Nova Scotia in 1994, KidSport Nova Scotia provides funding up to $300 per year per child for sport registration and/or equipment.
Working together to provide recreation opportunities to children, youth and families in financial need. The Jumpstart/RecKids Program is a joint effort of both HRM Community Recreation Services and the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program. It is designed to provide assistance to those who, due to lack of funds, would otherwise be unable to participate in sport, art, cultural and recreation activities.
Active for Life is the place where parents go to learn about how to make a difference in the health and happiness of their children. Research shows there’s a right way and a right time to develop the fundamental movement and sport skills that benefit kids for their entire lives. Learning these basic movement and sports skills is known as becoming physically literate.
