DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends of Karate Competitions\,\n\nKarate BC would like t
 o invite you to participate in the Americas Masters Games in Vancouver (Au
 gust 26 to September 4\, 2016). We are excited that Karate is showcased as
  one of the 25 sports at this inaugural event and we hope that you will jo
 in us. This event provides a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends\, r
 enew friendships and party downtown in beautiful Vancouver\, British Colum
 bia\, Canada. The event is open to anyone who practices Japanese/Okinawan 
 karate regardless of affiliation or style.\n\nFor general information and

 ames2016.com\, or the Karate specific page HERE.\n\nThe following is some 
 Karate-specific and general information that may be useful:\n\n 	There wil
 l be two age groups:\n\n 	30-45\n 	46 +\n\n\n 	There will be three general
  categories of competitors:\n\n 	Novice (8-5th kyu)\n 	Intermediate (4th-1
 st kyu)\n 	Advanced (black belt levels)\n\n\n 	There will be three discipl
 ines of competition:\n\n 	Kata\n 	Kumite\n 	Kobudo\n\n\n 	In kumite there 
 will be two weight categories:\n\n 	Men -75 kg and +75 kg\n 	Women -61 kg 
 and +61 kg\n\n\n 	Competition will use modified WKF rules.  Modifications
  will be as per Karate BC guidelines and will be distributed at a later da
 te.\n 	Competition date(s) will be September 2 &amp\; 3.  If less than 10
 0 competitors\, then September 3rd only.\n 	This is an open event – part
 icipants do not need to be part of their country’s NSO\; however if they
  are not they will need to buy tournament insurance for the day(s) of the 
 event.  This event is sanctioned by Karate Canada and Karate BC so member
 s/affiliates will be able to make use of existing karate insurance.\n 	Hot
