Karaté Québec are thrilled to invite you to the 2026 edition of the Open International de Montréal, happening on June 20 and 21, 2026—a weekend that promises energy, excitement, and high-level karate action!
This year’s event will once again bring together athletes of all backgrounds through two major competition categories: Recreational and Elite. Whether you’re stepping onto the tatami for the first time or aiming for top-level performance, the Open International de Montréal offers an unforgettable competitive experience.
The Elite division will feature a total of $5,000 CAD in cash prizes, distributed among the winners and finalists of the Senior Elite Kata and Open Elite Kumite events.
Winners will each receive $1,000, while finalists will take home $250—a great way to reward outstanding athleticism and determination. Meanwhile, the Recreational division will continue to shine as a welcoming and vibrant space for athletes from many countries to meet, perform, and grow.
We also invite referees holding a valid provincial, national, continental, or world grade to officiate during the event. All competitions will follow the official World Karate Federation (WKF) rules for both the Recreational and Elite categories.
Finally, beyond the competition itself, we are proud to welcome you to Montreal—a city where Francophone charm meets the rich diversity of a true multicultural metropolis. It’s the perfect setting for a world-class sporting event.
