KNS in partnership with the Windsor Karate Club club offers the following developmental program to members of KNS/PEIKA/KNB/KNL.


Atlantic Regional Kata Competition Development Program

For Ages 11+

The series of kata workouts are open workouts for anyone (11 years and up) who is interested in seeing what it is like to train and compete at a National level.  We are looking to prepare athletes for future years also, just not current year.  An Open workout includes those athletes who might not be ready to be on their Provincial teams but want the experience.

Dojo Coach’s are encouraged to attend!

KNS in partnership with the Halifax Ryuseikan Karate club offers the following developmental program to members of KNS/PEIKA/KNB/KNL.

Junior Kumite Competition Development Program

For Ages 8-11

  • minimum rank of yellow belt or equivalent
  • must own sparring gear (wkf-style gloves, mouthpiece and groin protectors)
  • must be registered with KNS

The Junior Competition Development Program (1 hr 15 mins per week) program focusing on youth competition & tournament preparation.   The focus is on Kumite. Students will learn development skills through a series of drills and exercises aimed at preparing youth for competitions and prepare for potential future provincial team selection.   Kumite drills, speed & coordination exercises, tournament rules and other related subjects will be introduced throughout the program.

Mitchell German – 6th Degree Black Belt. Chief Instructor Halifax Ryuseikan.  Current Nova Scotia Karate Team Head Coach, former National Coach and former Canadian and International Champion. 3-time Karate Canada Coach of the Year.
Current Karate Canada Assistant Regional Training Centre Coach (Atlantic).
San Fung-German – 2nd degree Black Belt, Nova Scotia Karate Team Assistance Coach, former Canadian, Provincial, Maritime and International Champion

  • must be registered with KNS
The ATHLETE “KUMITE” DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is a weekly, (1 1/2 hr per week) program focusing on competition & tournament preparation.   The focus is on Kumite. Students will learn development skills through a series of drills and exercises aimed at preparing for competitions and prepare for potential future provincial and national team selection.   Kumite drills, speed & coordination exercises, tournament rules and other related subjects will be introduced throughout the program.  
This class is for competitors ages 12 & up.
