Here is what you need to know:
We are planning a staggered start with juniors up to 11yrs old arriving at the venue (Yarmouth High School, on Forest St.) between 8:15 and 9 o`clock with the competition getting underway by 9:30. Twelve years and up will arrive at the venue between 11:30 and 12:15 with their events getting underway by 12:45. Juniors are asked to please vacate the venue as soon as possible after their events are completed so we can keep the number of people in the venue at one time to a minimum.
There will be separate divisions for girls and boys in all categories except team kata, of course. Each kata competitor will perform 2 katas with the highest aggregate score deciding the top 3 places. White/yellow belt divisions may repeat the same kata. All other divisions will be expected to perform 2 different katas. For this, the first year, of the new Kobudo division we will feature only Bo and Sai. Competitors must be at least 16 years of age and minimum rank of Orange belt. There will be 4 divisions: Kyu belt, Black belt women and men.
Please note that all competitors must be pre-registered for their events. There will be no door registrations.
Fees:
$20 ea. Kumite | King of the Ring
$15 ea. Kata | Kobudo
$10 ea. Ninja Turtle | Ippon Kumite
$30 Team Kata ($10 per Athlete)
Family discount applies on every 4th event (the lower feed). Example, 2 kumtie events, 2 kata, the 2nd kata is free for a family.
