It is that time of year again to start the process to put together the 2024 Nova Scotia Karate Team that will represent our province July 2024 in Laval, Quebec.
The first tryout will be on November 19th in HRM, 10 am to 1 pm, at a venue to be announced soon. There will be an information session at the first tryout

Here are some items of note:
- There will be 6 Team Kumite and 6 Team Kata Trainings this year, of which 4 will be mandatory for each. All trainings will be at the Halifax Ryuseikan Karate Club. Please refer to the Handbook for details on dates and mandatory sessions.
- There will be no 3 strike rule this year. Athletes will be expected to attend all mandatory trainings.
- Nationals will be in Laval, Quebec again this year and all athletes and coaches are expected to be in Laval from July 2nd to 8th, 2024.
- We are introducing a team budget this year, to assist with KNS in making necessary payments throughout the year. Details are on page 5, and will be discussed in the information session.
- There will be changes in how Ranked athletes receive compensation for travel.
