After a great clinic last year, Karate Nova Scotia is please to host the return of Mr. Gabriel Sylla for coaching and athlete training sessions on the weekend of April 28th-30th. Mr. Sylla is the National Coach for the Sénégalaise Karate Federation, and will be sharing information on how to be successful at the highest levels of our sport. He is a former coach for Karate Canada’s National team and holds a Graduate Degree In High Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership from the University of British Columbia.
He will be bringing a special guest, none other than the great Wayne Otto!
The name Wayne Otto is synonymous with tournament success. Otto is one of the most successful fighters to come out of Britain. He has appeared in the Guinness Book of Records as having won the most Karate championship medals for a male competitor. Nicknamed the “Black Shark” or the “Black Pearl” by his rivals, he was the backbone of many successful British and English teams coached by the great Ticky Donovan. Although Otto is mainly thought of as a sport karateka, the sporting side of his Karate is just one aspect of his karate. He is still rooted in the traditional style of Uechi-ryu Karate. In 2018 he became one of karate first olympic coaches and his athlete won gold Well known for his skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy and patience he is well sought after all over the world for coaching and kumite clinics.
- These sessions are for athlete development, but will also be open to all coaches/sensei so that they may be able to pick up some new drills\techniques to share with their dojo.

- 7-10 yrs old – $35 per class, $60 for the weekend
- 11 yrs and older – $45 per class, $80 per day, $150 for the weekend
