Hosted and organized by Mukashi Karate Club.
June 3rd (Friday): 7PM- 9PM: Officials Clinic to be facilitated by Chief Referee for KNS; Milton Bourque (No Charge).  
June 3rd (Friday): 7PM – 9PM: Kumite Clinic to be facilitated by KNS Head Coach; Mitchell German ($10.00 payable at the Clinic).
June 4th: Yarmouth Karate Challenge!!!! 

Tournament Check-in on June 4th:

    • Athletes 11 and under need to check-in between 8:30 am and 9 am.
    • Athletes 12 and up can check-in between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm.
Pre-Registration is a must.  Register through Karate Nova Scotia website.

Location:  The tournament will be held at the New Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School at 146 Forest St. in Yarmouth.  The large gymnasium can accommodate 3 tatamis for the competition.

All registration will be completed through KNS website. Please note that for this tournament you can only register for your current age category. 

IMPORTANT DETAILS YOU NEED TO KNOW!

  • Ninja Turtles– Will only be offered to participants 5 and under.                                                          
  • Ippon kumite will replace Ninja for 6- and 7-year-old participants. See guidelines and videos below. Regular Kumite will be offered for participants 8 and up.                                          
  • All kata, except team kata, will consist of total score over 2 katas. Only white and yellow belts can repeat a kata. Everyone else must perform 2 different katas.                                             
  • 6 Team kata divisions are Novice (w,y,o) and advanced (G,B,Br,Bl)  for 12 and under, 13 – 18, and over 18. The teams may be mixed (male/female) and will compete in the division of the oldest team member, and the highest belt color. Teams will perform 1 kata. The 2 highest scores will compete for Gold and 3rd and 4th highest will compete for bronze. (they may repeat the same kata)                                                                                                                   
  • There will be 4 divisions of Kobudo.  13 – 18 years Kyu Belts (Orange – Brown), 13 – 18 Black Belts, 19+ Kyu Belts (Orange – Brown), 19+ Black Belts.  For this first competition the only weapons allowed are Bo and Sai. Please see Kobudo Rules included in this information.                                                                                                               
  • The King/Queen of the ring divisions are for ages 13 – 15 inclusive, and will follow a new format as outlined below.

In the end, the club which gathers up the most points throughout the day will take home the “Yarmouth Cup”. Who will be this year`s Champion? Will the Windsor dojo be able to defend its title, or will there be a new Champion? Come to Yarmouth and find out.
